Another brother, Fritz Busch, 1890-1951, was musical director of the opera in Stuttgart (1919-22) and in Dresden (1922-33), afterward conducting in Europe, particularly at the Glyndebourne Festivals in England, and later at the Metropolitan Opera in New York City (1945-50).
