It is connected with the North Sea through the Skagerrak, which begins at the northern tip of Jutland, and with the Baltic Sea by way of the ¯resund, Store B¾lt, and Lille B¾lt. Gšteborg (Sweden) and rhus (Denmark) are the chief ports.
