In its properties it resembles chromium. It is corrosion resistant at normal temperatures, but oxidizes above 660°C. It resists attack by hydrochloric and sulfuric acids, saltwater, or alkalies. Vanadium forms numerous compounds, including vanadates and complex organic compounds.
