The Indus then flows onto the dry Punjab plains of Pakistan and becomes a broad, slow-moving, silt-laden stream. There it receives the combined waters of the five rivers of the Punjab (Chenab, Jhelum, Ravi, Beas, and Sutlej), its chief affluent.
